I was born in Lyon in 1966. When I was 10 years old, my family moved to Nîmes. This distancing from where I grew up led me to question my sense of belonging and to discover the Mediterranean.

I have painted from childhood. My first influences were Cézanne and Giacometti, the humanity of whose work affected me deeply. I was also moved by the colours and strength of De Staël and the rich textures of Tàpies.

In 1988 I moved to London, and the paintings of Bomberg and Auerbach encouraged me to establish my own pictorial language. My work includes elements of psychology, poetry, Taoist philosophy and music, all of which play a major part in my life.

For the last ten years, I have attended Art classes in Life, Still life, Portrait and Sculpture. My main interest, however, is the human figure.
